Food and wine festivals in Margaret River are no ordinary events. Hidden away in Australia’s south west corner, the Margaret River area is a food and wine lovers dream. The Margaret River is a natural paradise. It’s blessed with green rolling hills and woodland, along with top-class surfing beaches, and with a Mediterranean climate to boot.

All this rich land means growing all manner of fruit and vegetables here, including grapes, is easy peasy, and Margaret River is as well known today for it’s foodie and winery culture as it is for it’s beautiful natural landscapes.
Want to get to know your truffles from your mushrooms? Your cab sav from your shiraz? Plan a trip to one of the many food and wine festivals which pop up in the region each year.

Margaret River Gourmet Escape

Now a world renowned, the Margaret River Gourmet Escape is the big one. Every November thousands of foodies – and winos – descend to the shores of the Margaret River to wine and dine themselves silly for 4 days. Starting back in 2012, the event has enticed more than 80,000 visitors from all over the world with fantastic food and wine, culinary superstars and pop up events.

Cabin Fever Festival

For something a little more relaxed and varied, the Cabin Fever festival is 10 days of quality local wines, fresh food, brews and live music. Everyone will be cosy and warm by the bonfires, and what better way to warm up your red.

Food and wine festivals in Margaret River: The Drop Festival

Technically the Drop is a touring, boutique music festival, but it’s emphasis is very much on local, community focused participation which means great wine and plenty of fresh, tasty food. Local vendors and wineries offer up their finest to the music lovers, and the event is coming to Margaret River for just one lazy autumn afternoon in April.

The Knotting Hill Marron Feast

The WA Foundation Day long weekend is the perfect time to head over to one of the most picturesque of the Margaret River wineries. Knotting Hill is set in beautiful surroundings. They’ll be serving up cocktails and tasty food, along with their excellent wines.
If you thought all the best wine regions were over East, you’d be wrong. Margaret River is up there with the best of them, and with fewer visitors and the chance to catch a wave in between wine tasting and plates of gourmet food, it makes for a pretty perfect spot.
