James Price Point

Located in the Kimberley Region, James Price Point is a calm and serene spot ideal if you are looking to escape the noise and the rush of everyday life. Right in the middle of the sparkling Indian Ocean and the world’s largest humpback whale nursery, there is quite a bit backpackers can do around this site. Thanks to the giant fossilized dinosaur footprints here, this point is often fondly referred to as Australia’s Jurassic Park. In addition to this, you also find a fair share of indigenous significance here. If you are curious about the ways and culture of the first Australians there is quite a bit you can learn from here.

Karalee Rock

If you are looking to beat the heat on a hot summer day Karalee Rock is an ideal campsite. Constructed by the side of a dam using large granite slabs, there is a natural cooling effect on the place. Campers can do plenty here from fishing for yabbies to barbequing them. The spot comes equipped with facilities including toilets, tables and even showers.

Peak Charles

At a height of 2000 feet, this ancient stone is a beauty adorned with several hiking trails. If you are feeling particularly energetic, this is probably where you should be heading for the night. The dual reward of a great climb and even better scenery is definitely worth whatever effort you take to get here. Full of first Australian importance, this is an ideal location for a good dose of the founders of the nation
