What To Do in Perth

  • Visit King’s Park
  • Visit Rottnest Island
  • Go to Cottesloe beach

A beautiful setting on the Swan River, exquisite beaches and numerous cafes and restaurants make Perth an appealing destination for a holiday. Here is a list of things to do in Perth.

Visit King’s Park

Start crossing off your list of things to do in Perth with a visit to the King’s Park. Enjoy a stunning view of Perth’s skyline from the vantage point that is King’s Park. Stroll amidst treetops on the raised bridge and walk along the shaded pathways. The botanical garden in King’s Park is home to over 3000 species of flora unique to Western Australia. You can pause for a picnic in the shade of gum trees once you feel tired. If you’ve got the kids tagging along, they will enjoy the large playgrounds in the premises. The park itself stretches beyond 400 hectares.

Go to Rottnest Island

You could explore ‘Rotto’ as the locals fondly call the island on bicycle. Enjoy the sight of adorable and tiny marsupial the quokka but don’t attempt to feed them. You could of course male it a day trip and spend the day swimming, kayaking and snorkeling or playing a round of golf. Don’t forget to visit the Pinky beach or the Basin for some fun at the beach.

Catch a Sunset

Sunsets in Western Australia are breathtaking. Cottesloe beach, a mere 15 minute drive away from Perth CBD is one of the best places to catch  a legendary Western Australian sunsets. You can spend an entire day at the beach swimming in its clear waters or surfing into bliss before you settle down to watch the sun colour the skyline as it sets over the wide Indian Ocean. Cottesloe beach is also a perfect spot for a picnic with the family. You can sit in the shade of Norfolk Pines near the beach and tuck into good food and conversation.
