Western Australia By Campervan
WA is open for internal tourism as the COVID 19 rules are relaxed
Western Australia is big. Really big. Perth, the state capital, is one of the most remote cities in the world. As a result, it can pretty hard to travel away from it to even nearby attractions. If you want the freedom of going at your own pace, a campervan is the most popular option of transport to get to where you want to go. Travel Western Australia by campervan and just see where you could end up…
Margaret River
Just under three hours from Perth is Margaret River, WA’s famous wine region. With wine tours in abundance, you can enjoy a tipple or three and head back to your campervan to sleep it off, ready for the next day of adventures! Besides wine, Margaret River boasts a breath-taking coastline, wildlife, caves, forest, and a whole lot more.
Monkey Mia
Have you heard of the famous wild dolphins at Monkey Mia? If you want to meet the friendly marine mammals that visit the shore, drive your campervan up the Coral Coast of WA to Shark Bay, about 900km north of Perth. Blessed with blue waters, unspoilt nature and a welcoming atmosphere, you can park your campervan at the Dolphin Resort Caravan Park. Offering clean and modern bays, some on the beachfront, you have electricity, water and the use of bathroom and toilet blocks.
Karijini National Park
Western Australia is full of national parks, but the greatest is without a doubt Karijini. Blisteringly hot in the summer (December – March), a campervan will not only provide you with much-needed shade and respite, but will enable you to travel around some of its 600,000 hectares, park up at Savannah or Dales Gorge Campgrounds and visit the attractions of Dales Gorge, Weano Gorge, Fortescue Falls, and Oxers Lookout, and stay for a while in comfort.
Visit Broome on your Campervan trip
You probably wouldn’t be driving the 2,200km directly from Perth to Broome, but if you did, it would certainly be worth it. Settle at Cable Beach Caravan Park, chill out on the beach or take a sunset camel walk. Learn about the history of the pearling industry, take a visit to Roebuck Bay and be safe in the knowledge that you don’t have to worry about finding a bed for the night! The view’s not bad either!
